"Texture"...and guess what? I made a tag!!! ROFL ;)
Yes that's the challenge for April over at The Artistic Stamper Creative Team ;)
I started by doing a swooshing background of Distress Inks on the tag and then cut some letters with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die out of plain white card and then some corrugated card. Attached the white card letters first with glossy accents and added the corrugated letters on top.
I peeled back the top layer of corrugated card on a couple of the letters for some extra texture and smeared some Inca Gold copper over to highlight the ridges.
Then coloured a couple of the letters with Distress Paints in seedless preserves with pickled raspberry dabbed on top and the other couple of letters with raspberry first and seedless preserves dabbed on top.
I stamped the ruler from Sewing A5 plate by Katy Fox and Life is a Circle from Journaling words 1 in Archival sepia.
The dancer was stamped in Versafine black onto a cardstock that was textured and that made a lovely distressed look to it....and the plinth from the Architecture plate 1 was stamped onto some sticky backed cork sheet and cut out...then the thread top image from Sewing A5 plate was stamped onto some Claudine Helmuth sticky backed canvas coloured with Dylusions and sprayed with some Perfect pear mist over the top.
The wording is a mixture of the words from Journaling mini words 1 the word Life and a semi-handwritten word "Breathless" which I intended to be a rub on but my rub on letter sheets are ANCIENT! and did not rub off that good!
So went over them with a black marker pen and they then looked not half bad ;)
The open wing from the Dancer plate was stamped over a stamped background using the Dance plate and cut out...the edges were scuffed up and coloured with Distress inks bundled sage and vintage photo. and a bit of tissue tape was folded in half and added to the top and secured with a couple of staples.
You really must take a look at the "Texture" creations the rest of the team have made.

So don't forget.............the monthly challenge is "Texture"
The rules are simple... all you need to do is make a piece of art, be it a card, ATC, wall art, altered art, tag ;)... just remember that it must include some rubber stamping and the theme... and... if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry you will be entered into the draw twice! The prize is £15 worth of stamps from the Artistic Stamper shop... along with the KlingOn to mount them onto.
I hope you get chance to play at the challenge... it is open until April 30th and the winner will be chosen by Random.org shortly after :)
Thanks for looking and happy stamping
xoxo Sioux
Hope you've had a good Easter weekend my blogging friend - loving the tag, the background looks fab with those mix of colours. Do you know what, I think you should have left the rub on wording as they were, the fadedness (is that a word lol) added emphasis to the word...if you know what I mean...Sorry I'm waffling but the basis is; I do love the tag and its wonderful texture!
ReplyDeleteOh Flippin' 'eck this is wonderful. I'm going back for another look and some tips.
