Joanne asked the other day how my garden was, so here is a little update if you are interested ;)
A year on from the make over my garden looks like this
and this
As opposed to this
and this!!
I have to be honest, I'd hoped that most things would have been a lot bigger than they are by now, I'm sure if Monty Don had planted them they would be!!! I suppose I should be grateful that they are still alive with the weather we have had this year!! LOL
So the Mahonia is bigger now
than last year
The Aucuba is bigger now
than last year
The bamboo is bigger now
than last year (very happy with that)
Last years narrow border
This years narrow border
Last years larger border
This years larger border
I spent the day relaxing in my garden
It's what it was made for :)
the only concession to the fact it's October was wearing a pair of socks!!
Aaah bliss! :) :)
Thanks for looking
xoxo Sioux
The garden looks fab... and if they grow too quick they sometimes loose shape... at least when growing slow you can train them to where you want them..

I think your garden looks great a year on, and everything seems to be doing well. Love the pic of you relaxing - haven't had the sort of weather here for that this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking great!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking fabulous ! Next year you'll be complaining it's overgrown lol :D XXX
ReplyDeleteOh that cheered me up no end. What a transformation especially seeing the then and now together. All the rain this year has only seen my big trees get bigger. Getting a bit scared of their height as they really should be in a forest. You look well which is a pleasure to know.

Thanks so much for sharing your garden with us, Sioux, it's really looking established now. I bet by next year you'll really notice a difference in the size of things although I know what you mean about the Monty Don effect. I want to know how he gets such stunning looking Dahlias when all mine were munched by the elephant sized slugs that have moved in!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it while the weather lasts, it's been foggy here for the last couple of days so no gardening for me.
Hugs Lisax
looks like a lovely place to chill out in.
