Well....not Chianti.....but I did have liver tonight ;)
When liver is mentioned I'm afraid I can't help but smile 'cos it reminds me of Silence of the Lambs and that reminds me of the awesome impersonation Pip did of Hannibal at one of our garden parties once :) He scared the living daylights out of some of our friends!!! LOL
And what is so special that I feel the need to blog about it you ask?
Wellllllll.....I have not had liver since way before Pip died...it was a no no on his list of foods....already far too much iron in his blood...would have been crazy to eat liver and add to it!! Never thought it was fair to have any when he could not...and believe it or not liver was one of the things he rarely cooked he always said I did it better! Praise indeed :)
So tonight, unusually for me especially during the week, I cooked liver stroganoff and I realise those of you that do not like liver will be going yew! But even though I am blowing my own trumpet here....it was, as a dear friend who is no longer with us once said, ORGASMIC!! LOL
If I die in my sleep tonight I'll have had one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time :)
xoxo Sioux
P.S. I hope I don't die in my sleep tonight 'cos there is loads left and I'd hate to waste it!!! ROFL
That liver looks lovely... and I would have loved to join you.. and please don't die... it would be a terrible waste.... made me laugh....

Really looks lovely. My hubby refuses to have live or any offal in the house! lol Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a recipe I'd like a copy of....please share it.

I'm one of the "yew" to liver brigade, but it does look really good. I just had a small bowl of pasta...that's the one thing that I've always cooked for myself because David detested the stuff. I bet yours was much tastier than mine though! Lindsay x x
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious, I don't mind liver, but once or twice a year is enough for me lol x
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad you had a lovely meal - hopefully NOT a last supper, lol - but I don't like liver at all - though i do occasionally eat it as I know it's good or me.... Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh that made me laugh because I used to buy liver every week or two when my boys were little. I only found out a few years ago that they always made an excuse to go to the toilet so they could flush it away!!! and there was me thinking they had eaten it all......... Must admit, I do like pan fried lambs liver but no onions.
