Reading the "Fifty Shades" trilogy was a bitter sweet experience for me as so much of it brought back memories of Pip.....now, now, now.....don't even go there! LOL
As is so often said in the books "It's not what you think"...it's the romance side I am thinking of ROFL ;)
I felt the need to channel my negative thoughts into a positive piece of work to remind me of the sheer joy of the read that also left me bereft when I finished the last book as it coincided with what would have been my 35th wedding anniversary.....strangely it felt like I'd lost Pip all over again....and I don't care what anyone says I gain no comfort what so ever thinking about him and remembering the good times....it makes me feel rubbish.....I'd rather hope my future is bright.....life is for living...and not getting upset about something I cannot change and if I think about him I get upset...
...sooooo...it may sound bad...
...but not thinking about him seems to be the only way I can do this unless I want to spend the rest of my life getting upset and I most definitely do not want that !!
My darn imagination is just too powerful sometimes....then I get maudlin and forget to concentrate on the good things! LOL

Anyways.....instead of the journal page I might have done (might still do) I wanted to make something to look at on my wall for a change that would make me happy :)
Using my favourite guy stamp by T!m and one of my favourite lady images by Stamp Fransisco.
There is one of my favourite quotes around the edge by Wilde....he would definitely be on my guest list for dinner ;)
To which I added
"Which person behind the mask will you reveal today?"
my imagination keeps me sane........just about........most of the time! LOL
So the canvas is full of favourite stuff that makes me happy just looking at it :)
I love the patina I've managed to get on the metal bits with paint dabbers in gold, juniper and espresso. :)

Thanks for looking and coping with my emotional outburst and moans today...my excuse...
..if I need one...is the red hair...it takes over just occasionally!
I'm hoping my spirits will be lifted on my trip to Florence...it's been an emotionally difficult last week for me ;)
Ooh! I've just realised Simon Says is "No Rules" this week so I am linking it there ;)
Who knows it just might be my lucky week to win the fabulous prize from the generous people at the Simon Says shop of $50.oo how cool would that be? :) Although if I do I'll be on holiday and then I'll probably be too late to claim the prize!!! Hey Ho LOL ;)
Also there is "Bits and Pieces" use embellishments, and there are plenty of them on my canvas so I'm linking it to Hels Sunday Stamper too thanks for looking :)
Sorry for the marathon post!!! LOL Life's too short...spend your time happy ;)

Hey Sioux...I love your piece! It's got all sorts of wonderful things going on there! Love the patina on ideaology metal pieces. Love the mask on the woman's face. Love the colors and the design. It's really amazing! I enjoyed reading your post as well and I didn't consider it marathon at all...more an outpouring of your thoughts and motivation for the piece. Thanks for sharing your art and story with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show and thanks for the very sweet comment you left on my blog! <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteHi Sioux - thank you for coming by my blog and commenting - sorry i am a bit slow in coming back to people it has been a busy few days.
ReplyDeleteEach of us tackles our loss and grief as best we can - there is no cure any more than there is for falling in love (with the right or wrong person)
after a loss
the events that provoke a memory that takes our breath away as if we are right back to the moment of our loss, rather than the years it really has been, well those moments have to be endured and allowed to pass too,
the empty spaces left by the shape of those that were once there are hard to bear.
do take care,
dxxxx
Your canvas is stunning and I hope you have a wonderful time in Florence......A x
ReplyDeleteWOW, hunny, this is an amazing piece of art... and I can see that it has come straight from your heart. I know what you mean when you say that thinking about Pip is just bringing it all back. I feel for you, I really do... and during this dark time you are having, I am sending my biggest hug.... I won't speak in cliches about time healing and all that - that is the last thing you want to hear, I know. Have a wonderful holiday, kick back, relax, and above all, think about YOU... lotsa love and thanks for joining in xx
