W.W.W. and Morels!

I've just returned from a weekend away at a manor house deep in the South Hams with no mobile signal!

The party are all in a wine tasting group and this is their yearly self catering weekend break together but I've been privileged to be invited along the past two years as a guest ;)
The Morning Room

The Drawing Room

View from my bedroom window

It is great fun.....great company, good food and long W.W.W. that's wine tasting weekend walks!!!

One of the (many) hills we had to climb

Devon Banks full of wild flowers

Climbing yet another hill! The views are worth it when you reach the top ;)

I've now been invited to join the wine tasting group officially...even though I can't drink any of the reds!!!
(Love red but a few years ago I started to be ill the day after...even after only one glass so have had to forgo the pleasure) :)

When I got home this morning I went in my garden to check it out and found an amazing surprise.....I've got morel mushrooms growing!!!!

How fab......I thought there were signs of some fungal activity in the bark I laid last November and it turns out my suspicions were correct...........I just hope they will return every year;)

My Sexy Beast Has Died!

Well, having read all the reports on-line, it was only a matter of time before my sexy beast a.k.a. my Vagabond conked out on me!!!

It conked out on me yesterday :( !!!

It is also out of it's years warranty since I got it from QVC in Feb 2011 :( !!!

I suppose it has only lasted this long because I only use it very occasionally!!!

Sizzix have said they will replace it but have none in stock and are waiting new deliveries around 4th May :( !!!

They say they will get back to me nearer the time to arrange collection :)
I  have to believe that will happen.....but the date is in my phone and I'll be ringing them nearer the time too :)

List of Needs!

I was going to go to bed at 8.30 last night (sad but true, there is just nothing that takes my fancy on the t.v. on Saturdays these days)...
...anyway......as I said....I was going to and then I got this wicked idea and just had to run with it...you know how it is? ;)
Now I can blame the lovely Dawn for providing the inspiration for this and the fact that in the end I was still awake at 1.30!!!

She posted a video of Caro Emerald the other week and I had never heard of her till then....wow! I love the music you just want to dance when you hear it....especially an Argentine Tango with RA :) I bought her CD and love it....so thanks Dawn for the tip off ;) If you have never heard of her here is a little video of the song I am head over heels for at the moment.

Please enjoy :)
Stamps: Stampotique, The Artistic Stamper, Studio G, QVC (lips) although the lips on the list are all mine! LOL...neo colour and india ink background.

366 April

Made my April page very late last night for Kate's calender challenge......had far too much Cava during the day and admit to being (very) tipsy as I created this!

Having said that....perhaps I ought to do that more often 'cos I love the colour mixes going on here :) LOL..........Stamps Paperartsy and T!m sentiment.

On a serious note.....the Cava is going to have to be moderated as I've been put on Statins......I tried really hard to lower my cholesterol by natural means but in the end it is not working :( And high cholesterol combined with being diabetic is not a great thing apparently!

So today it's very overcast but earlier I managed lunch in the garden with the sun peeking out now and then, and as you see no Cava!!! That's elderflower cordial mixed with soda water! What a bummer! It tastes nice though ;)
xoxo Sioux

P.S. What the hell am I doing reading Cosmopolitan articles about 20 ways to make your man scream!!! As the title of my book reads it will be a long time coming I expect!!! ROFL :) :)

Good Friday in so many ways!

Some days suck!!!
Then again....some days make life worth living :)

Today these are the things that made my life worth living!

Yikes! Who needs Italy!

Parrot Tulips waiting to erupt ;)

Walnut Stain...Brushed corduroy...Picket Fence...Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick ;)
a.k.a. my fabby fire pit!

Happy Easter everyone! ;)

Too Young!

My "new" old ledger was played in again and this time I've done a double page spread.....inspiration provided by my mortgage broker would you believe?!
The question of age kept coming up in the process of all the form filling!
;(.....and he reminded me of the fact that in our heads we will always think of ourselves at a certain age that is much younger than our earth years :)

I'll always be about 30  no, 29 'cos I did not want to be 30! Then I really did not want to be 40!
I know I sure as hell did not want to be 50!! ROFL...
...how old are you inside your head and what do you think of RA in the spectacles?
Think he would look good in anything....but a suit or those black leathers would work best for me ROFL?
Stamps used mixture of Stampers Anonymous, The Artistic Stamper, Studio G

I'm entering this in the new Unruly PaperArts reader art quest for inky backgrounds. over at Unruly PaperArts 'cos there is a lot of inkiness here...I actually spilt the yellow ink all over my table and my nails were a weird colour for a few days! LOL ;)

Thanks for looking
xoxo Sioux
P.S. Just in case you can't read the smaller journaling when you click on the picture it says
"Whilst I might see myself this way is there really a Prince Charming out there wearing rose tinted spectacles who sees me in the same way?"

WOYWW New Journal

I'm here again  WOYWW'ers.....
....and look what I've just acquired...

...an old ledger approximately A4 size......I'm going up in size here ;) I've now got 3 different sizes to create in.
Lovely pages just waiting to be used.....the paper is a bit on the thin side so I'm going to have to stick two pages together.

Thanks for looking and now it's time to head on over and visit the supremo Julia to hop around the world :)
xoxo Sioux
P.S. Come back tomorrow and I'll share the first cool page I created in it :)

Things that defined my weekend!

It was short notice but my boss was cool that I wanted to take Friday off ;)
My shed has been calling out to be sorted since way before Phil died...
...but to be fair it was his shed and he was ill, and it would have seemed unfair to intervene and carry on!
I suddenly got an urge (ooh er! LOL) to sort out the shed and this was what hit me when the door was open!

You could not get to the back of the shed for love nor money as they say.

I carried on through Friday and called it a day around 5...then the Cava called ;)

Saturday was a dull and grey day here and I was at a very loose and frankly frustrating end so after reading the paper I set off for town but something turned me round and I set off walking in the opposite direction and walked all the way to Paington!

I think that in all I walked about 7 miles 'cos I caught the bus back to Brixham and walked home from there too!!

After very little sleep, I got up at 8 and finished off the shed...
...not perfect...yet....but it is a great start ;) At least I can get to the back of the shed and the shelves now :)
It took me nearly 2hours to put the battens up to hang the chairs from!

The garden called me then and these are some of the things that made my day:)

Bare feet in the sunshine

Anemone blooming

Moved my dress form into the larger flower bed to allow the clematis to entwine around it ;)

Thanks for looking...
....I'm looking at three four day weeks in a row now ;)...

Ribbons and Lace for The Artistic Stamper

Thanks for all the "Travel" related creations for last months challenge :)
So..... this month it's going to be
"Ribbons and Lace"
for April over at The Artistic Stamper Creative Team ;)

Now I'm not really a ribbons and lace sort of girl ;) but I cracked the whip and came up with this A4 sized scrapbook page...

Stamped the lacy border three times in Distress Ink scattered straw, bundled sage and victorian velvet...
...cut 3 mats for the photo's and stamped the marbled background in Archival crimson and coloured over with Distress antique linen...
Cut some T!m sizzix swirls and stamped the mini polka dots background in Archival black on the two larger ones and the houndstooth background on the smaller one...
...coloured the swirls with the same three colours used on the lace stamp and coloured the ribbons with them too...
stamped the word Beauty from the nudes A4 plate to finish off the page.

You really must take a look at the "Ribbons and Lace" creations the rest of the team have made and here are the DT member links for you.

So don't forget.............the monthly challenge is "Ribbons and Lace"
The rules are simple... all you need to do is make a piece of art, be it a card, ATC, wall art, altered art, scrapbook page ;)... just remember that it must include some rubber stamping and the theme... and... if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry you will be entered into the draw twice! The prize is £15 worth of stamps from the Artistic Stamper shop... along with the KlingOn to mount them onto.
I hope you get chance to play at the challenge... it is open until April 30th and the winner will be chosen by Random.org shortly after :)

Thanks for looking and happy stamping
