Lets Dance!

I've spent a very physical hour dancing already tonight ;)
(Need to work off my frustrations somehow!!! ROFLIA)
Now it's Dance for Comic Relief time again....yeh!
So.....Waterloo Road were good...
...John Culshaw was cool...but not as cool as Roland!
Katherine Ryan and her costume was fab-u-lous!
I don't do soaps so have never seen the Corrie guy before...
...I do love a bit of tap though :)
However my vote goes to Katherine Ryan.....I do love that song too it is so good to dance to. :)

Things that Matter

So...orange and purple together is not something that I would automatically go for but I have to say the design team pieces show how fab a colour combo that can be. ;)
They certainly inspired me to join in with this tag...

...this turned out better than I expected ;)
Dylusions sprayed as background...butterflies coloured with the dylusions too.

Thanks for looking

Lets Dance!

I love to dance!
I'm not saying I am any good at it!
These days I only dance on my own in the living room!!!
Still.........It makes me happy and there is something very liberating about feeling the beat ;)
So I love lets dance for comic relief :)
My personal choice tonight was....
...Weeelllll Ricky Hatton could have been so much better but...
....I go for Soap Stars and Destiny's Dad!!!
Very entertaining.
But neither are any where near to being in the league of Roland Rivron!!! ;)
Yeah! Menopausal women of the world unite!

On the way to our dreams

This rather hit the spot with me creative wise ;)

The only really technical thing about this was the clear embossing to the heart in the corner as I did not want the rest of the stamping to interfere with that!!
So I stamped it in Archival coffee, coloured the heart with some Dylusions...and the banner with a Distress marker...then used an embossing pen over this and heat embossed with clear powder.

Everything else was simply stamped in Distress or Archival with no masking involved at all...yeh!
I finally coloured some card with red ink, stamped and cut out the car....added some glossy accents for the windows and attached with silicone glue...the brads added an extra masculine touch don't ya think?

Thanks for looking.
Linking this to Hels Sunday Stamper where the theme is love and hearts...

Red, Pink and White at Stampotique

I'm entering this in the Stampotique challenge this week (SDC 86) where the theme is
"Red, Pink and White"

This little scrapling card uses a light spritz of Dylusions and a quick swipe of Distress paint in pickled raspberry...

...well I had to try one or two didn't I? Just to test and see if there is any difference to Fresco's...personally I'm not convinced there is any difference....apart from the obvious colour palette! So I'll be buying Fresco's and not Distress....personal choice.

Jo's Bee was stamped on the card and a touch of red glitter added to the body...then I decided to add another layer and stamped the large bee again onto a bit of plastic packaging and glittered the wings pink.....so not me!!!! ROFL

Thanks for looking

And this is me!

Ever since I started this old blog back in August 2008 I've had the digital image of me at the top of the page...

well I decided to have some fun and took some pictures of myself on Monday...in all 167 on the auto setting...you know it detects a face and shoots!!!
Just to get barely 20 I was happy with!!! LOL

a) because I wanted a picture of the real me here.

b) I've joined the 21st century at last and gone on a contract for my mobile with a smartphone Yeh!...and need updated photo's for putting on stuff like What's App etc.

c) I'm rather happy that I've lost a bit more weight/toned up with Zumba, and feel confident enough to share myself! ROFL

The eagle eyed among you (that would definitely be Joanne ;))
Saw the initial photo on Monday /Tuesday....

but I've tinkered with it since then and feel it is more me now!!!!!!!!
LOL

Thanks for looking

P.S. I'm still perplexed as to how RA would be able to resist...

Believe it!

Believe it or not I sat in the garden on Saturday morning for breakfast...the first time this year....even if I did have to wear my fleece....it still felt good :)
Could not have possibly done it Sunday though!!!

Looking forward to many more...without the fleece on...
...and who knows, perhaps a good man might join me one of these days too...
...I live in hope! ROFL ;)
Good to see Petula is still going strong at 80...I'm hoping to do the same fingers crossed.
She was Pip's favourite :)
Got some art for tomorrow if you want to come back ;)

Happy Escape!

I was thrilled to be a favourite for my tag in last weeks Stampotique challenge.....thanks so much. :)

I'm entering this new journal page in the Stampotique challenge this week (SDC 85) where the theme is "Whatever makes you happy"

I had a lucky escape Monday evening!
The rain was sheeting down and the wind was blowing a hooley here......and a tree came down in the lane leading up to the works unit. Apparently it's a bit of a miracle how it missed me on my way out, as one of the guys was literally just a minute (possibly even seconds) behind me in leaving and it was down by then!!! He had to get the lorry with it's lifting gear to shift it!
Fortunately I did not know anything about it until I came to work the morning after.............phew!

Obviously that guardian angel is saving me for better things!!! Like a good man...

..possibly even RA!! HOL ;)
So it makes me even more happy I'm alive at the moment :)
Thanks for looking.

Hearts and Flowers for The Artistic Stamper

Last months challenge "Use your favourite stamp" saw some varied and creative creations :)
So the challenge for this month is
Yes, how fitting for February the month of luuurve ;), over at The Artistic Stamper Creative Team

I decided to make a tag, just for a change ROFLIA ;)

I first cut some tattered florals from some crowded attic papers. Then stamped alternate petal layers with the sequin waste open A5 and calligraphic mat 13 using Versamark and heat embossed in white and pewter powders. Layered them up and secured with a brad.
The dancer was stamped onto grunge paper and cut out then I used the new Ranger emboss it dabber (love that ;)) to cover the surface and used Distress embossing powder in tattered rose.
The heart is from the home sweet home A5 plate and was again stamped on grunge paper and red glitter applied.

The background on the tag was made using Dylusions sprays in bubblegum pink, fresh lime and melted chocolate. Water was then spritzed through a mask and some of the ink lifted off using kitchen roll.
Using Archival inks in black, crimson and coffee I stamped the ticket from Labels, the stamp from Airmail bird collage elements, the crown from crowning glory, the row of crowns from London A6 and the bubbles from Borders A6.

The sentiment used the smaller scrabble letters from Scrabble and Tags A4 plate and the open wings from the dancer plate were stamped onto the dance background and cut out.
Everything was stuck down with either silicone glue or glossy accents.

You really must take a look at the "Hearts and Flowers" creations the rest of the team have made.

So don't forget.............the monthly challenge is "Hearts and Flowers"
The rules are simple... all you need to do is make a piece of art, be it a card, ATC, wall art, altered art, scrapling or tag;)... just remember that it must include some rubber stamping and the theme... and... if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry you will be entered into the draw twice! The prize is £15 worth of stamps from the Artistic Stamper shop... along with the KlingOn to mount them onto.
I hope you get chance to play at the challenge... it is open until February 28th and the winner will be chosen by Random.org shortly after :)

Thanks for looking and happy stamping
