Pondering - Can you help?

I'm pondering purchasing a score board.....problem is I have no knowledge of using one!!
Has anyone got a preference?
Do you like the one you use?
If you don't like the one you use what would make it better?
I don't want to waste money on getting the wrong one!!! LOL
Love your help.....leave me a little message if you can or e-mail if you would prefer ;)
Thanks
Susan

  4. I have a Coppernob M&F board - A4 size - don't use it often, as the cardstock I buy ready-scored, but it is OK. Not tried any others, so not sure how it measures up.

  5. I've got a Dovecraft one and the A5 line isn't in the middle of a sheet of A4 - so annoying!! We're not being very helpful are we!!!

  6. I have the scor-it board in the large size and I tink it is AMAZING. I also have the pink groovy board which is also good. I think it depends what you want to use it for. The scor it is invaluable for accordion folds mini books and boxes and the groovy is great mainly for cards and boxes. Sue x

  7. I was going to buy one myself last month after Mario tweeted that he uses the Martha Stewart one. However, you just try and find one - not easy. They cost around £20 but everywhere I looked, they were out of stock. Good luck.

  8. I inhertited one a few years ago, think it was from Country Companions, it's purple anyway and has boxes on one side and card sizes on the other. I love the box side and have used that quite a lot but haven't used the other side much at all. I tend to just use a ruler and embossing tool.
I think it all depends on what you want to do with it. Not very helpful I know. Sorry!!

  10. I've got two purple Crafter's Companion boards. One is for making envelopes and I've used that a lot to make mini envelopes for ATCS, and mini envelope books. The other I use a lot for making boxes and for books and cards that need multiple folds. The grooves aren't always in the right place for everything I want to do, but I can still usually line the card up OK. When the grooves are in the right place for the measurements I'm using, then it makes everything so easy. I've made lots of boxes this way.

  11. I have a score pal which comes complete with cutting mat and work surface but I hardly ever use it for scoring as the lines are never where I want them, also I got it in inches and most uk mags etc give cm sizes.I believe the hougie board has both sizes one on each side, I still use a ruler and embossing tool for most stuff.
