Copic Colouring Trial and Error!

Trial and error!


Yep......I'm still practising Copic colouring!!!


I'm sure eventually I will get the hang of this..........


I bought some 100lb smooth surface cartridge paper from Winsor & Newton to try and the first attempt (the wishy washy one on the left or is it the right.........never too sure if it's my left or your left or whatever!!! LOL) was stamped with an Archival black pad that could do with a re-inker...must find one of those on the net!...and as you can see there is no definition I tried going back and adding a bit of black lines over the top but everything slowly merged together wishy washy like!!........I suppose at some point it might just be the effect I want..but not on this....strangely the watercolour paper I tried the other day does not bleed the colours like this
....I would have thought it might!!



Not to be defeated I tried stamping with another black ink pad and clear embossing the image...then tried colouring and have to say it looks 100% better........still not blended quite as I would like but hey it is only the 3rd thing I've coloured in!!! LOL :)

P.S. My northern friend Gez advised to try bright white coated card stock but that is easier said than done obtaining any round here!! LOL

    Memento Black ink is safe with Copics.
    I use box weight card from Crafter's Companion or TBH the stuff from Hobbycraft also works fine for me!
    Looking good though!

    As above Momento ink is best for Copics as others bleed even stazon

    I use SU white card stock and it works fine and not that expensive!
    I think it looks pretty goo hun keep at it

    Hiya hun was just going to add the same - momento ink is best for copics although if you heat set archival its usually ok HTH x Janet

    Hi,your colouring looks fab...little tip, watercolour paper will eat the ink in Copics and isnt the best surface for getting a good blend, needs to be really smooth and less asorbant...i can recommend either Bristol board or Personal Impression super smooth paper xx
