New New New!

If I hadn't been laid up over Christmas I could have had a crafting frenzy with my prizes it is.....I have only yesterday started to actually have a play.
I have a lot to look forward to in the New Year with all these goodies waiting to be used so I started with trying out the Copics that were provided by the Craft Barn........In a million years I would personally never have bought any seems like a money pit waiting to happen!! LOL

I tried colouring in a Whiff of Joy image that I had stamped previously onto some rough watercolour paper but perhaps it is not the best surface, I'll have to keep experimenting as you can see from the scan! That's all the trial test dots along the bottom too.

......I found it a bit confusing with the colours seeming to be so similar and then I decided to make a trial colour swatch and a light bulb moment occurred when I could see that
..........there are distinct sets of colours in light, medium and dark tones that you can put together

.....I fear there are an extra couple of less vibrant colours I could really make use of as well!!!
Hope your New Years Eve celebrations go well....we are sharing the moment with friends...ten years ago was Millennium and some of those friends we shared the moment with are no longer with is like it is 1999!!! LOL
Thanks for looking and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Ein Glückliches Neues Jahr!
¡Feliz Año Nuevo
xoxo Sioux.

  2. I've just been having a catch up on what you've been up to over the hols. So sorry you've been poorly, that stinks, especially over Christmas. Hope you are both feeling lots better now.
I love your fav creation of the year, it's gorgeous.
Good luck with the copics, you're a braver person than me, they all seem far too complicated!!
Have a Great New Year. I agree entirely, live every day to the max!
    See you in 2010.

  3. What a great prize! Have fun with it. Hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year. Hugs anesha

  4. Oooh what a lovely prize!!! what a great range of colours. You probably know this but when the colours are very similar they are used to blend ie, light & dark shades. I think i have about 6 Copics & although i love them i still always seem to go back to my Tombows!!! probably if i had more colours i would use the more LOL!!! did you get one of the clear blending Copics??? maybe worth investing in one if not as they are good for lightening shades etc.
Well have heaps of fun with your stash. Would love to see what else you won!!!! best wishes Clare xxx

  5. Sorry forgot to add HAPPY NEW YEAR XXX

Enjoy your Copics. Will email you when it's a more sociable hour! I love my Copics. The best paper to use is bright white coated cardstock (so that the ink doesn't soak in & blends easily) experiment & have fun.

Thank You for brightening our lives in 2009 with your inspirational work. Looking forward to visiting your blog in 2010. Wishing you the best of everything to you & yours. Gez.xx
